Would you like to learn more about reading a commercial pattern and the techniques of dressmaking? This course is for you if you find the idea of dressmaking a bit overwhelming.
We will be making the Camber Set by Merchant & Mills – a simple T shirt shape. The day’s learning covers measuring your size and identifying which size to cut. Laying up a pattern, understanding pattern symbols, fabric direction, cutting out accurately and eventually sewing using seam allowance and making darts, inserting a sleeve and hemming.
The ticket cost includes your copy of the pattern to take home. You will also be given 10% off any fabric and notions purchased for class. Please bring your own sewing machine or contact us if you would like to borrow one.
Refreshments will be provided through the day – but please bring lunch or research where you can go for 1/2 hr at lunch for some fresh air and a break.
