Her outfit is designed by Sarah Peel in collaboration with our friends at Cloth Atelier. Together, we curated the smallest-scale Indian block prints in the most joyful colours. For the Kantha jacket, Sarah has drawn inspiration from East Asian textiles and her own Indian adventures and storytelling.
Some of you might remember last year when we wrote about the artist Geeta Khandelwal, whose tiny quilted clothing is a true labour of love. Uma’s look is in part homage to that work — detailed, intricate, stitched with thought — while still firmly rooted in the soft storytelling world of Luna Lapin.
Only one special person guessed Uma’s species, and we’ve never been more delighted to keep a secret.
Uma is a perfect project for every stage of your sewing journey. She’s surprisingly simple to sew, with clear and detailed instructions to guide you through every step. Her beautifully tailored outfit is designed to build real dressmaking skills — it just happens to be in miniature!
