Push your dressmaking skills a little further, joining us on this 4 day course to complete 2 patterns – we will be using the Merchant and Mills Haremere jacket and the Strides from the Merchant and Mills Workbook – we will really getting to grips with trouser fitting with each attendee making a toile and then progressing to your chosen fabric. The jacket is half lined with bound inner seams, and a shawl collar, and patch pockets – we will focus on the best ways of handling wool, check matching and creating the right finish. The trouser has a fully constructed fly and quarter cross pockets.
The book will be included in the price but attendees will need to bring their own material, or buy some here. – we will provide more details of supplies a month in advance of the date. Please let us know your size so we have the patterns ready for you and if you are a different size to the 8-18 size range so that we can work on pattern grading in advance of the weekend. If there is time we will also tackle the bias cut bantam top, a perfect layering piece.
Price includes the workbook, tuition and refreshments.
You will need to purchase a suitable fabric.
Lunch can be found in one of Kendal’s many lovely cafes or you can bring your own to eat here.
Accommodation is not included.
10 – 4 pm at our workshop in Kendal, above the CoolCrafting shop.
This workshop is more suited for adults.
