What will you make?

During this workshop, attendees will explore hand-stitched Shadow quilting while creating a picture or block that can be framed or incorporated into a quilt or cushion. The technique of Shadow quilting is a form of appliqué; it is a way of capturing memories with special fabrics, whether in the form of a design or a picture. The piece is worked onto a foundation and layered with transparent fabric with a variety of hand-stitched embroidery techniques.

What is provided?
Instructions and kits, including fabrics (linen, Liberty lawn, muslin, calico and cotton organdie) and threads.

What will you need?
You will need to bring glasses if you wear them, and your creativity. If you have any extra needs, please let us know it advance. You might want to bring your own scissors if you are particular about your cutting tools, and a small light if you prefer to work with one.

Where is it?
This workshop takes place on the first floor of our beautiful CoolCrafting shop in the heart of Kendal, just off the historic Market Place. Please be aware that the only access to our first floor is via a staircase; there is no lift.
